Job Profile

The company is hiring a Maintenance Technician who will promptly and courteously perform general mechanical maintenance of the facility and equipment.

Education Level

• High School Diploma or GED

Work Experience

• Must have some basic computer experience
• Must have a working knowledge of AC/DC motors

Duties/Responsibilities

• Maintains accurate maintenance records.
• Maintains the interior and exterior of the building including woodwork and replacing ceiling tiles.
• Operates scissors and forklifts.
• Paints and performs minor repairs on buildings’ interiors and exteriors, including masonry, wallboard, ceiling tiles, woodwork, etc.
• Performs basic handiwork such as replacing light bulbs, ballasts, water and air filters, and plumbing fixtures, cleaning drains, and hanging pictures and bulletin boards.
• Performs basic welding, brazing, and cutting to fabricate items such as guardrails, brackets, and hangers.
• Performs inspections of and tests fire alarms and pumps.
• Performs mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
• Prepares and operates machine tools such as lathes, grinders, drill presses, and mills to repair or fabricate machine parts or fixtures.
• Repairs and maintains facility systems (HVAC, chiller, boiler, plumbing, compressed air, and humidification).
• Supports various recycling programs such as light bulbs, batteries, and metals.
• Tests and treats boiler feed water with specified chemicals.
• Troubleshoots and resolves mechanical problems and makes repairs as needed.
• Troubleshoots minor electric and electronic problems.
• Uses rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments accurately.
• Performs other job duties as assigned.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Must be able to maintain good attendance.
• Must be able to perform all essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must be able to properly use rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
• Must be knowledgeable in the safe use of hand and small power tools.
• Must be trained in basic electric and mechanical safety.
• Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
• Must pass color vision and color hue tests.
