Job Profile

The company is searching for a Maintenance Technician who will repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment.

Performs electrical work in connection with the installation, maintenance repair of electrical systems, equipment, and appliances.

Under limited supervision and in compliance with the specifications keeps in operation the manufacturing equipment.

Education Level

  • Associate Degree in Electronic Technology, Electronics, Industrial Mechanical, or related technical field and 2 years of experience in a regulated industry is required: or a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic Technology, Electronics, Industrial Mechanics, or related technical field.

Work Experience

  • Experience in an automated industrial environment (preferred)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assembles and installs any electrical apparatus, control equipment, and wiring used in the manufacturing area.
  • Comply with all federally regulated programs.
  • Documentation of the PMs and work orders in Maximo or applicable quality documents and logbooks.
  • Follow current compliance regulations and standards.
  • Installation and startup of new equipment as requested by the supervisor.
  • May operate drill presses, grinders, welding equipment, and other tools to make repairs.
  • Read diagrams, sketches, blueprints, operation manuals, and manufacturing specifications.
  • Repairs and provides preventive maintenance to all production equipment and troubleshoots facilities equipment when needed.
  • Responsible for correcting machine problems to minimize downtime.
  • Supports ETHICON Production System (EPS) by identifying, evaluating, and resolving problems.
  • Understands and adheres to ETHICON Production System (EPS) Principles and Rules.
  • Work together with outside contractors giving service to manufacturing equipment.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Availability to work overtime, and various work schedules, which may include 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts or 12-hour daily shifts, including weekends and holidays, is required.
  • Basic Metrology, Basic Statistics, Analytic Troubleshooting (ATS), Technical Writing, and Good Documentation Practices are required.
  • Basic PLC knowledge and the ability to read schematics are preferred.
  • Electrician License is preferred.
  • MAXIMO knowledge is preferred.
  • PC literacy including MS Office and use of other software and applications is preferred.
  • Strong electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic knowledge and troubleshooting skills preferred.
  • Verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish are preferred.
