Job Profile
The company is seeking a Maintenance Technician who will support production departments with preventative maintenance of the mechanical equipment to ensure it is predictable and is maintained to an excellent condition.
Support the production departments with movements of large tonnage chillers for production.
Education Level
- 1-year Certificate from College or Technical School (preferred)
- AA degree (highly desirable)
Work Experience
- 5 years of related experience in one or more of the following areas-
- Electrical maintenance including Industrial Equipment and Controls
- Facility maintenance including HVAC
- Mechanical repairs
- Hydraulic or Pneumatic repairs
- Welding/Fabrication
License/Certification
- Career Readiness Certificate (CRC) of Silver or higher
Duties/Responsibilities
- Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
- Consults with management, engineers and vendors as needed
- Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts. This would include the rigging and installation of machinery.
- Fabricates and repairs counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures.
- Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers, wiring, and conduit (3 phase and single phase), and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
- Installs, programs, or repairs programmable controls and machine controllers.
- Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
- Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.
- Observes and follows all safety rules and wears appropriate PPE.
- Operate forklift, and other maintenance related equipment (examples include but not limited to man lift, straddle crane, etc.)
- Operates cutting torch or welding equipment.
- Performs preventive maintenance on all equipment and inspects cranes and hoist.
- Read and interrupt blueprints, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical schematics.
- Repairs and maintains forklifts, and other related vehicles (examples include but not limited to man lift, straddle crane, etc.)
- Repairs and maintains hand tools, impact guns, saws, etc.
- Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment.
- Responsible for correcting or reporting unsafe conditions observed within the plant.
- Responsible for reporting work related injuries and near misses to supervision.
- Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools.
- Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.
