Job Profile
The company is seeking a Maintenance Technician who will be tasked with maintaining and repairing production equipment to ensure minimal downtime due to mechanical issues. The production equipment consists of machines such as single-spindle, multi-spindle, CNC machines, testing equipment, and parts cleaners.
Education Level
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2-year completion of Technical or Community College in the field of Mechatronics, or an Electromechanical equivalent.
Work Experience
- Minimum 5-8 years of industrial maintenance experience
- Must have demonstrated experience in troubleshooting/diagnosing/performing preventive maintenance for CNC equipment
- Electrical experience-480VAC-120VAC, 120VAC-24VDC
- Hydraulics and Pneumatics experience and the ability to read schematic drawings.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Ability to work from layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, rough sketches, drawings, or verbal instructions.
- Actively work on and engage with all department projects, tasks, and objectives.
- Assists with setup activities, installation, and setup of new equipment.
- Complete all required safety program objectives and training.
- Efficiently and effectively provide maintenance support to meet the needs of customers, both internal and external, while maintaining a safe and clean work environment for employees. Provide technical expertise to support daily operations and to achieve significant improvement in production-related objectives.
- Ensures strict adherence to safety procedures and critical facility work rules. Must be familiar with proper chemical handling procedures, local codes, and cooling and heating systems. Proper handling of chemicals and SDS documents. Must know safe work practices, LOTO procedures, and proper donning of Arc Flash PPE.
- Ensures work environment is clean, orderly, and free of safety hazards.
- Maintain the highest ethical standards as well as absolute personal and intellectual integrity, mature judgment, and the ability to communicate at all levels within the organization.
- Perform corrective and preventative maintenance, repairs, and work on a wide variety of electrical, mechanical, electronic, and electromechanical production equipment and building systems. Must be familiar with typical mechanics hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and electrical test equipment such as multimeters.
- Take an active part in cost reduction, continuous improvement programs, and LEAN objectives
- Troubleshoot (diagnose and resolve) breakdowns of hydraulic, pneumatic, and high voltage electrical systems without assistance.
- Troubleshot and diagnose the CNC equipment. Performs maintenance, repair, and calibration on equipment such as control systems of numerically controlled machines (CNC), other controlling or spot-welding equipment. Conducts operational tests and repairs equipment by disassembling required components, repairing or replacing faulty parts, reassembling, and adjusting equipment. Determines proper setting for timing and control mechanisms.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- The ability to communicate effectively, in oral and written form, with Operators, Team Leads, Managers, Engineers, Vendors, and Contractors on workmanship, manufacturability, and process design issues is key. Interface and pass down information between cross-functional team members of incoming and outgoing shifts as needed.
- Basic knowledge of forklift preventive maintenance and light repairs.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with a high degree of quality and reliability so that equipment is capable of operating within the required specifications.
- Demonstrated experience in maintaining building infrastructure assets-HVAC, Air Compressors/Driers, Fans, Lighting, Doors, Roofing, Offices, Restrooms, Lab Structures. Either hands-on or direct contact scope with vendors or contractors.
- Demonstrated proficiency in English comprehension and expression, both verbal and written.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and facilitation skills.
- Must possess basic math skills (i.e., Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division, Fractions, and Decimals) as well as basic reading, writing, and computational skills.
- Strong Mechanical skills related to power transmission, gear reducers, shafts, bearings/couplings, chain-driven equipment, and pumps.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, ability to use personal computer hardware, business software, email, and CMMS-Computerized Maintenance Management Software.
Work Environment
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
- Must be able to stand, bend, push, pull, and climb.
- Must be able to wear all required PPE
- Must be able to work in weather extremes.
