Job Profile

The company is searching for a Maintenance Technician (EG) who will support manufacturing operations and facilities infrastructure by providing a full range of mechanical, electrical, and repair tasks with a focus on project completion in a timely manner and attention to detail.

Educational Qualification

• Applicants should be High School Graduates or Equivalent

Work Experience

• Must have hands-on Certification (Sr. Mechanical and Sr. Repairman or Welding Certification – 3G/4G)
• Strong Mechanical and Electrical background and good work record

Duties/Responsibilities

General Duties-

• Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and OEM manuals
• Ability to read and interpret precision measuring devices
• Must be able to demonstrate welding proficiency
• Must be capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously
• Must be familiar with normal shop equipment such as drill press, band saw, portable power tools, welder(s), etc.
• Understand manufacturing processes and manufacturing equipment

Primary Tasks-

• Develop material list and order materials required
• Fabricate, install, repair, or replace, building electrical or mechanical components
• Perform all work in accordance with Southwire policies and procedures
• Provide direction to contractors and small crews if applicable
• Reading electrical and or mechanical schematics, drawings, and equipment manuals
• Works in a safe manner and ensures the safety of all employees

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Good communication skills with Leadership, peers, and external suppliers
• Must have basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, CMMS, Excel, etc.)

Safety Measures

• Must follow prescribed safety procedures to prevent injury and maintain safe equipment and conditions in the entire plant
• Report all accidents, incidents, injuries, and unsafe acts or conditions, immediately to the supervisor

Work Environment

• Ability to meet the physical requirements of working safely in an industrial maintenance environment
• Follow all company environmental rules/procedures and handle all materials in a manner designed to minimize environmental impact
• Up to 50% travel is possible
