Job Profile
The company is seeking a Maintenance Technician I who will provide general building, grounds, and equipment maintenance within the facility.
Education Level
- Not mentioned, a High School Diploma (a plus)
Work Experience
- Electro-mechanical Degree (preferred) or a strong technical background in electrical, hydraulics, PLCs, pneumatics, or HVAC (preferred)
- Must be familiar with metal fabrication concepts and processes.
- Must have experience in the maintenance of fabrication and manufacturing equipment.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Able to perform basic troubleshooting and repair of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment, as well as handle plumbing and light carpentry repairs.
- Can follow written and verbal details to complete assignments or jobs.
- Can inspect and clean all equipment.
- Can perform all preventative maintenance on all equipment.
- Can perform general building and grounds maintenance.
- Can record time accurately including “time and attendance” and “labor reporting” using the data collection system.
- Follow instructions on maintenance tickets to perform PMs following the due date.
- Follows safe manufacturing and material handling practices.
- Has the authority to stop production when nonconforming parts are detected.
- Mastered the use of all required equipment and hand devices.
- Understands and adheres to UAI 5S manufacturing practices.
- Understands and adheres to UAI employee handbook policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to apply commonsense and understanding to carry out detailed and written oral instructions.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and employees.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
- The ability to read, comprehend, and implement lock-out tag-out procedures is required.
- Basis computer and ERP knowledge for looking up SRO’s, P.O. requests, and closing maintenance ticket SRO’s
- Must perform all duties in conjunction with UAI and ISO requirements.
- Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills.

Work Environment
- Must be able to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 100 pounds with an assist.
- Frequently required to work on equipment that may contain live electrical parts, high-pressure vessels/piping, and spring-loaded apparatuses.
