Job Profile

The company is seeking a Maintenance Tech III who will perform turret/spindle alignments, PM tasks such as troubleshooting lubrication system, hydraulics, bar feeders, etc. troubleshoot controls, issues, etc., able to diagnose and repair most any NC mechanical issues; pull and replace ball screws, hydraulic and pneumatic issues.

Able to complete any task given related to facility maintenance demonstrating expertise in plumbing and general carpentry and numerous tasks involved in facility-related issues.

Demonstrating the ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics, while serving as either a mechanical or technical SME.

Education Level

  • High School Diploma or GED (preferred but not required)
  • CNC maintenance training and Certification

Work Experience

  • 6-10 years of experience
  • Requires high-level experience working with mechanical processes and methods such as hand tools, and light equipment such as saws, drills, and pneumatic tools.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Able to identify electrical components such as relays, micro switches, and proximity sensors.
  • Able to read and understand electronic drawings and use this information and troubleshoot various types of machines such as CNC lathes and mills, induction heaters, and laser markers.
  • Assist Maintenance Level 4 for spindle stator rebuild axis linear guides and ball screws.
  • Check the functionality of machines worked after repair, maintenance, and installation.
  • Electrical: Able to read and understand electrical drawings ladder logic/relay logic and use in troubleshooting.
  • Fit and scrape bearings, fit and align spindles, columns, knees, tailstocks, ways, and tables individually and concerning each other.
  • Interface with manufacturers’ online tech support when needed.
  • Mechanical-Able diagnose and repair most any CNC mechanical issues such as turret and spindle alignments, pull and replace ball screws, hydraulic & Pneumatic issues, and most any mechanical issues.
  • Perform carpentry work on permanent structures, office partitions, panels, floors, and offices.
  • Perform facility work, roof, electrical, waste area, ac/heater issues.
  • Perform good housekeeping practices.
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance according to schedule.
  • Plan and sequence of work operations to rebuild and functionality check all types of precision-built power machine tools (NC, lathes, etc.)
  • Plan, lay out, and fabricate replacement parts for a major rebuilding of precision-built machine tools were set up and the operation of basic machine tools to exact tolerances was required.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose any NC control or servo drive issues.
  • Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.
  • Perform other duties as required by supervisor or manager.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • A high-level competence in shop math such as working with fractions and decimals.
  • High-level knowledge of NC equipment and controls.
  • A high-level knowledge of hand tools and mechanical applications regarding nuts and bolts.
  • High-level knowledge of part-holding methods and procedures.
  • Ability to lead and instruct low-level maintenance.
  • The ability to interact and troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems at a high level.
  • The ability to interact with computers and CNC controls at a high level.
  • The ability to perform complex Preventive Maintenance for all NC, lathes, etc. following equipment checklists and running a PM report with a ball bar diagram.
  • The ability to read and write English.
  • The ability to read electrical and machine drawings and diagrams at a high level.
