The company is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer to join its team.
Education Level
- Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Associate’s Degree in Drafting Technology or 2 years of vocational training or equivalent
Work Experience
- 5 years of relevant experience in place of formal educational
Duties/Responsibilities
- Advocate for safety and quality in all manufacturing processes, ensuring products meet stringent industry standards.
- Calculate standard manufacturing cost.
- Conduct investigations to identify root causes of supply chain or manufacturing issues.
- Design and validate the processes (work instructions, quality inspection checklists, first article inspection, etc.) for the new product introductions.
- Disposition of non-conformances recorded during the manufacturing process and driving corrective actions.
- Identify and capitalize on opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
- Implement and thoroughly monitor corrective actions to ensure lasting improvements in manufacturing processes.
- Implementation and release of new products into the manufacturing areas. The main tasks to achieve this outcome are:
- Maintain compliance with Quality Management System (QMS), Health Safety and Environmental (HSE), and industry quality standards, supporting QA/QC teams with audits and process development. Attend safety training and wear required safety equipment as appropriate.
- Manage engineer design changes by communicating and implementing changes with all internal and external stakeholders.
- Project management and continuous improvement initiatives:
- Provide informal leadership and coaching to associates and leads in the area to implement best practices.
- Provide technical leadership and support in any changes in the Bill of Materials, manufacturing drawings, manufacturing routers, cost, supplier, and other changes affecting the form, fit, and function of the product.
- Qualify and develop new and existing vendors to ensure adherence to quality and efficiency standards.
- Technical Troubleshooting
- Working with product engineering to evaluate the design for manufacturability and providing workable design change suggestions.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Infrequent travel to other manufacturing locations.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to suggest/adapt/implement changes in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 or more years of hands-on experience in the manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing projects independently.
- Experience with GD&T, engineering drawing, or wiring diagrams.
- Experience working directly with production equipment and maintenance thereof.
- Manufacturing experience in assembly, welding, or powder coating.
- Proficient in Solid Works, Teamcenter, JD Edwards
- Proficient in the creation and maintenance of production routers and work instructions.
- Troubleshooting Mechanical and Electrical equipment experience.
