Job Profile
The company is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer who will develop and maintain needed systems to drive continuous improvement in areas of cost, quality, safety, lead time, and use of working capital.
Education Level
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Industrial Engineering or a related field
Work Experience
- 2 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering
Duties/Responsibilities
- Analyze production costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement changes to minimize expenses.
- Assist in the PDP (Product Development Process) process. Evaluate new projects for tooling and equipment needs.
- Assist in work cell load balancing for all manufacturing areas.
- Assist other functional areas as directed.
- Assist with EH&S
- Assist with plant layouts.
- Continually evaluate tools and equipment options that will reduce costs in the operation.
- Develop and organize lean events in multiple manufacturing/assembly facilities.
- Lead projects related to manufacturing process improvements.
- Monitor and correct safety/ergonomic issues.
- Participate in verification, review, and implementation of torque specifications as well as high-risk part specifications.
- Provide manufacturing technical support for production operations, which includes tooling, fixturing, and process troubleshooting utilizing existing systems and procedures.
- Work with associates on 5S programs and assist teams in implementation.
- Other duties as assigned
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to take on projects outside their scope of work
- Aptitude for tracking changes in data and analyzing the data to make recommendations to Management
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Excels at documenting their process and helps make improvements to their job through system and process improvements
- Proficient in SolidWorks/AutoCAD
- Self-directed to meet the outlined KPIs for the job
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and principles
- Very detail-oriented
Work Environment
- Regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods and to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Frequently required to talk or hear.
- Required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crawl over, under, and around equipment.
- Required to frequently work from a ladder or at heights up to 11 feet off the ground.
- May be exposed to vibration.
- Regularly lift or move up to 15 pounds frequently, move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
