Job Profile

The company is searching for a Manufacturing Engineer (New Model) who serve as a T-Stage Zone Lead within the East Liberty Plant (ELP) Weld (WE) department, responsible for weld process maturation, supporting all New Model and Mass Production activity in the department to execute projects and sustain current and future business goals.

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (mechanical, industrial, manufacturing) or equivalent (college/university)

Work Experience

  • 0-6 years of experience (dependent upon education level)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Analyze/understand parts master list and applications for responsible zone–model types
  • Communicate with T-Stage Lead, ADC Zone members, and MMC groups to ensure work is on schedule and specifications are clearly communicated
  • Follow build schedule, sort and ship parts to ELP for build events, distribute parts lineside
  • Lead 2-3 zone support associates and support the Weld department with any Current or New Model requests
  • Oversee current and new model training plans for Weld department, zone-specific training
  • Plan/execute activity for build events, cycle up, maturation, and report status to T-Stage Lead
  • Read Parts drawings, Spec Notices, 3D CATIA data, communicate with Process/Quality
  • Review information from ADC and identify any gaps related to documents or teaching
  • Weekly meetings for zone activity related to DWGs, build events, and pending items
  • Weld and sealer confirmations during build events, report back to T-Stage lead and Dept.
  • Work with the Safety and Process group to complete Ergonomic Risk Assessments for zone processes

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Microsoft Office – Excel and PowerPoint
  • 2D and 3D drafting utilities – CAD and CATIA; analytical problem solving and decision making; project management; read drawings and know parts for zones

Work Environment

  • Occasional split/second/weekend shift support required
  • Weekly overtime
  • 40% Fast-paced manufacturing environment, 60% office environment
  • +/- 10% depending on necessary work
