Job Profile

The company is searching for a Manufacturing Engineer (Robotics/Automation) with an emphasis and expertise in Robotics and Automation.

The primary focus will be working with the engineering team in product development and working to refine current and existing products by engaging with management to develop designs, innovations, and improvements in the process.

Educational Qualification

Applicants should have higher education in an applicable field (engineering, technology, automation, business) from a college/university

Work Experience

  • Possess 2+ years related experience; or equivalent combination of experience (internships included) and education
  • Experience with Solid Modeling software (Solidworks preferred) and AutoCAD.
  • Strong background and experience in robotics and automation with the ability to recognize and identify opportunities for applications within the manufacturing plant.
  • Strong Welding knowledge with experience in robot welding and programming preferred.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assist with manufacturing engineering projects in the non-robotic welding areas including fixtures, gages, work instructions, process routings, and facility layout.
  • Communicates effectively with all levels of the organization (from shop floor to management).
  • Coordinate and manage the manufacture of sample parts with the production plant including procurement of components.
  • Demonstrates flexibility in approach and ideas, responds positively, and supports change in procedures, processes, technology, responsibility, and assignments.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of hydraulic component function, hydraulic circuits, fluid dynamics, electronic component function, and electrical circuit schematics.
  • Design fixtures and gauges-build, assemble, implement and modify for optimum performance.
  • Develop and manage a robust rest process.
  • Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods.
  • New equipment investigations, justification, selection, and implementation.
  • Prepares and presents Capital Expenditure Proposals. Performs all functions required for project management from initiation through completion.
  • Responds with commitment and sensitivity toward satisfying the needs of internal and external customers. promotes a quality and continuous improvement philosophy.
  • Responsible for the programming of robotic welders-this includes writing new programs, modifying previous programs, and touching up weld parameters.
  • Understands and designs for manufacturability. Demonstrates knowledge of the following systems: CAD/CAM, PLC Programming, word processing, spreadsheet, database, and manufacturing/inventory control software.

  • Strong communication skills are required.
  • Ability to effectively and confidently present complex information in an understandable manner (both verbal and written) to all levels of personnel within the organization.
