Job Profile
The company (TrintyRail) is looking for a Manufacturing Industrial Engineer who will play a critical role within our manufacturing operations by developing and implementing efficient manufacturing systems, and actively participating in cost-reducing and continuous improvement projects, all while maintaining standards of operation, and plant certifications, and audit requirements.
Education Level
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering – College/University
Work Experience
- Minimum 3 to 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or industrial processes
- 2 years of experience working with industrial equipment, welding fabrication, and manufacturing tooling environment
Duties/Responsibilities
- Analyze and keep updated manufacturing methods and processes
- Analyze manufacturing requirements and capabilities and develop Standardized Work instructions for different railcar configurations
- Collaborate with Lean and Continuous Improvement teams at plants during Kaizen events or Value Stream mapping activities
- Collaborates with Design Engineering to design cost-effective manufacturing layouts and building ergonomics for new product lines
- Create Shop Aid diagrams for critical or complex assembly processes
- Designs, redesigns, or enhances work areas and layouts so that awkward or uncomfortable positions, repetitive motions, and inefficient operations are reduced or eliminated
- Develop or validate Time Studies for critical production processes
- Identifies and assesses various problems that depart from established manufacturing standards and best practices; researches and recommends solutions
- Implements methods and modifications to reduce/improve production costs. Propose and implement cost-reduction initiatives that simplify manufacturing processes and increase plant profits
- Maintains knowledge of best practices in manufacturing methods, and trends and developments in technology and equipment; applies this knowledge to maintain the organization’s competitive edge
- Participate in planning teams, cost optimization, and projects in general, which seek to improve the overall performance of the plant
- Participate in technical and mechanical reviews with Operations, Safety, Design Engineering, Tools and Fixtures, Welding, Quality, and manufacturing plants, to analyze and develop optimal process instructions
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Interpersonal Skills – Guides, influences, and persuades other professionals, either internally in other areas or externally with clients or agencies
- Professional competencies – Learning on the Fly, Dealing with Ambiguity, Driving for Results, Organization
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Proficient with 3D modeling software or CAD systems
- Strong computer and presentation skills
