Job Profile
The company is hiring a Manufacturing Process Engineer who will design processes for a safe and efficient weld department.
Use analytic tools and traditional industrial engineering methods to optimize weld production functions and new model launches.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) from a college/university
Work Experience
- 0-6 years of dependent upon education
Duties/Responsibilities
- Collect feedback from the production floor and address their concerns.
- Develop Plans and Schedules for projects. Set timelines and detailed activities. Hold meetings with cross-functional engineering groups to ensure completeness.
- Evaluate and implement ergonomic countermeasures to prevent associate injury.
- Identify opportunities to reduce waste within weld operations and improve efficiency. Apply 5S work methods, and workstation design, and set best practices for production.
- Manage logistics plan for dept.’s part delivery and packaging
- Perform time estimates for weld process, and equipment loads, and develop Operation Standards. Support cycle time optimization
- Project support for all items impacting the Weld department’s Associate Process.
- Regularly lead meetings with other Honda functional groups to develop and launch improvement themes (Quality, Safety, Delivery, Production, Purchasing, NM, Packaging, or Logistics).
- Support New Model Events. Forecast design impact to department. Incorporate change points into process design. Identify concerns and countermeasures before mass production.
- Use M.O.S.T. to develop balanced processes across manufacturing areas. Work to achieve 95% Process Efficiency. Apply Lean Manufacturing techniques. Design processes that are simple and achieve SQCDM targets. Maintain process layout
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Excel VBA, standard time evaluation, workstation design, 5S, lean manufacturing, customer service
Work Conditions
- Occasional split/second shift support (required)
- 0-5 hours OT weekly
- 50% manufacturing environment, 50% office environment
