Job Profile
The company is looking for a Manufacturing Project Coordinator who will be responsible for maintaining, reviewing, tracking, and preparing for certification of Task Group Instructions, Condition Reports, LARs/RLARs, and all other technical work documents.
Assist to the Project Manager with the myriad of details associated with material, schedules, and resource availability.
Interface with Project Managers, Supervisors, Craftsmen, NDT inspectors, Quality Assurance, and other departments and organizations as required to support assigned projects. Interface will involve obtaining and providing information on matters of importance to the assigned Project Manager (s) and or Program Management.
Education Level
- High School or GED or equivalent
Work Experience
- At least 5 years of experience in the manufacturing industry/shipyard repair industry.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products with substantial experience working with Excel.
- A strong understanding of manufacturing processes including welding, machining, and fabrication. Direct working experience in these areas is a plus.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Coordinate receipt, control, and issue of controlled material as needed.
- Ensuring projects adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project
- Enter all relevant data into the system, establish tasks, distribute preliminary information, and create and manage project folders according to company standards.
- Facilitate ‘kick off’ meetings with all required departments to review orders and develop a plan to exceed customer expectations, and hold follow-up meetings to ensure deadlines are being met.
- Follow direction provided by the Manufacturing Program Manager.
- Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to, and enforcing, all safety procedures and policies inside and outside the facility, including use of personal protective and other equipment as required.
- Maintain communications with internal and external customers to ensure project tasks are being accomplished effectively and efficiently within the established time frames.
- Receive/ inventory specific project materials to include CFM.
- Represent OII-MSD in a positive manner both internally and externally while adhering to the organization’s core values.
- Review Q/A forms and requirements prior to inspections or certification.
- Review TGI/ TWD for accuracy and completability before beginning work.
- Set up, and maintain manufacturing materials storage areas.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
Preferred-
- Ability to successfully reach company goals in an environment in which a wide degree of creativity and latitude is required.
- Applicant will be subject to periodic security investigations and must meet the eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain a security clearance issued by the US Government.
- In addition to the security clearance, this position may require an additional background screening for base access.
- Must be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance issued by the U.S. Department of Defense.
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Position will interface with internal customers, external customers and vendors.
Physical Requirements

- Job tasks are performed in close physical proximity to other people

- Primarily indoors during the day and occasionally at night
Occasional Activities-
- Lift 20-50 pounds
- Work in confined spaces, kneel, jump, run, and work while lying on stomach/back, crawl, and use repetitive movements of the arms and hands.
Frequent Activities-
- Lift 10-25 pounds
- Climb stairs/ladders, stand, balance, stoop, squat, reach, and lift/carry objects
- Twist body, sit with back supported, head forward/flexed
Constant Activities-
- Lift up to 10 pounds
- Wear PPE protection for body, vision, and hearing protection
