Job Profile

The company is recruiting a Manufacturing Support Specialist who will help to take the business to the next level.

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants should have a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or closely related degree from a university/college, OR a combination of training and work-related experience (required)

Work Experience

  • Possess experience of 5 years as a Manufacturing Engineer or as a related manufacturing professional (strongly preferred)
  • 1-year N/C programming experience using a graphics-based system (required)
  • 2 years machining and fixturing steel/stainless steel casting (preferred)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed manufacturing routings to support the desired method of manufacturing. Prepare rework routings as required and ensure corrective action is complete to avoid additional rework. Continuously monitor shop paperwork. Ensure the flow of information is useful, timely, and correct.
  • Prepare manufacturing process sheets (MPS) as required to clarify the process. Identify tooling planes, pre-weld configurations, construction dimensions, etc. Prepare sketches of fixtures to identify concepts for tool and fixture drawings and cost estimates as required.
  • Prepare N/C programs as necessary to support production requirements. Prepare set-up sheets to identify cutting tools and speed and feeds, as well as a sequence of operation.
  • Provide liaisons between manufacturing and support groups as required.
  • Provide program management leadership as required to support the implementation of strategic manufacturing programs. Provide leadership during design reviews, giving input on casting techniques, machining methods, and assembly techniques.
  • Regular and reliable attendance
  • Train operators in proper techniques to perform required tasks as defined by routing. Ensure operators are capable of achieving required efficiencies before training is complete. Recommend appropriate training to shop supervisors.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Understanding of pattern making, rigging, and core fabrication (required)
  • Onsite work is an essential function of the job
