Job Profile
The company is searching for a Master Mobile Mechanic who will perform all top-level truck repairs on mobile equipment, including loaders, haul trucks, dozers, excavators, and other mobile equipment.
Education Level
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
Work Experience
- 2 to 5 years of heavy equipment experience
Duties/Responsibilities
- Assists in training of co-workers as needed
- Communicates/directs co-workers through hand signals and two-way radio
- Demonstrate good knowledge of the lockout/tagout procedure required during certain procedures
- Maintains parts inventory and orders supplies as needed
- Manages fleet WO and PM scheduling and completion with the team
- Must demonstrate exemplary skills in the field
- Observes and listens to equipment in operation to determine malfunctions
- Operate mobile equipment as needed
- People leadership skills and ability to lead by example.
- Perform welding, repair, and fabrication
- Performs data entry on all services performed
- Performs general clean-up of the work area
- Proactive planning and maintenance repair on mobile fleet
- Provide own personal tools up to ¾
- Read, write, and communicate in English
- Reads manuals, uses hand tools, power tools, and has knowledge of electrical, power transmissions, brakes, drivelines, and other automotive systems to perform repair work
- Replace rollers and other worn items as required
- Required to follow all safety policies and procedures
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and repair
- Advanced knowledge of engine, drive train, brake, electrical, and hydraulics is a plus
- CAT quarry/construction equipment/diesel engine repairs
Work Environment
- Ability to climb stairs, climb ladders, reach, squat, tolerate prolonged standing/walking, balance, bend from trunk, operate mobile equipment, crawl, kneel, push and pull objects
- Ability to operate foot pedals with both feet
- Ability to operate hand controls with both hands
- Ability to perform sustained overhead reaching
- Ability to perform work while lying on the back for prolonged periods
- Ability to tolerate working at heights up to 100 feet
- Ability to tolerate working outdoors in all environmental temperatures and weather
- Ability to use vibration tools
- Ability to work in areas with the potential for high noise levels
- Ability to work in cramped quarters
- Lift objects of various dimensions and weights
