Job Profile
The company is looking for a Material Handler who will be responsible for loading, unloading, and moving materials within or near the plant, yard, or work site.
Education Level
- Not mentioned, yet a High School Diploma will be a plus
Work Experience
- 1+ years of work experience as a material handler in an industrial setting
- Materials or warehouse experience
Duties/Responsibilities
- Delivers parts to areas in the plant where work is in process
- Maintains forklift trucks in clean, good working order
- Moves inventory materials to their respective area
- Performs cycle counting and physical inventories as directed
- Receives, processes, and tags incoming material
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to identify, plan, start, and complete projects or other work that needs to be accomplished
- Ability to organize and prioritize projects and information with accurate turnaround under tight timeframes
- Ability to work within a team environment, communicate professionally with team members and vendors, clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing
Work Environment
- Except clerical, administrative, and some management positions, the physical environment requires the employee to work in hot and cold environments, in and out of the weather, work safely around heavy equipment and on top of and under railcars, as well as around railroad tracks.
- Employees are required to use personal protective equipment such as steel toe boots, hard hats, hearing protection, safety glasses, welding and grinding shields, etc., or as environmental conditions dictate.
