Job Profile
The company is searching for a Materials Engineer who will be responsible for overseeing processes, equipment, and safety used in the shop during the production of finished products.
Educational Qualification
- Applicants should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from a college/university
Work Experience
- Possess a minimum of 3 years of prior experience
Duties/Responsibilities
- Assist with the development of new product and process capabilities.
- Develop capacity models to tie on-time delivery and TAKT time to production performance.
- Identify pertinent KPI metrics and implement the means to measure, track, and drive improved performance.
- Interface with government and customer auditors.
- Lead, teach, and coach employees in all aspects of lean manufacturing implementation and maintenance.
- Optimizes new systems and upgrades to existing processes and facilities.
- Support manufacturing and component repair operations such as machining, grinding, EDM, welding, blending, heat treating, brazing, thermal spray, peening, surface finishing, NDT, etc.
- Troubleshoot problems on the production line, issue corrective actions, and reports.
- Update shop routers, procedures, and process documentation.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Advanced organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and adherence to approved manufacturing data.
- Demonstrated success in utilizing lean tools such as PDCA, value stream mapping, Kaizen, 5S, etc.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Familiarity with aerospace products and standards or FAA regulations.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Machining skills, tool/fixture design, CAD modeling, or machine programming experience are a big plus.
- Previous work with airfoil fabrication.
