Job Profile

The company is recruiting a Mechanic who will work directly under the supervision of a Leadperson or Supervisor in a shop or field environment.

Education Level

Work Experience

  • Minimum 1-3 years job specific mechanical rebuild experience
  • Experience with troubleshooting and repairs on hydraulic and electrical components

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Ability to drive process or design improvements.
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly and engineering prints.
  • Ability to understand the scope of the job and direct multiple people in the completion of the job.
  • Assessing equipment repair needs and repair processes.
  • Equipment component rebuilds and gearbox rebuilds.
  • Laying out and performing repairs with accuracy and quality without supervision.
  • Primary focus is on a safe work environment and employing safe work practices consistently.
  • Processing parts (inspect, clean, deem reusable or scrap).
  • Troubleshooting, maintaining, and performing repairs to assigned tooling.
  • Work with QA/QC to develop best practices.
  • Working in a diverse team environment.
  • Able to become –
  • Forklift Task Trained
  • Fire Extinguisher Task Trained
  • Confined Space Task Trained
  • LOTO Task Trained
  • Fall Protection Task Trained
  • Crane Task Trained
  • Certified Rigging
  • MSHA Certified Underground
  • General Knowledge of mining equipment.
  • Use of Laser Aligner, Micrometer, Caliper, and Bore Gauges without supervision.
  • Advanced Print Reading.
  • Moderate physical demand, continuous lifting or moving lightweight to moderate weight materials, and working in difficult work positions.
  • Current valid Driver’s License
  • Able to pass pre-employment drug screen and physical job requirements.
  • Consistently promotes the Komatsu’s safety culture which includes but is not limited to –
  • Understands and complies with all established Cardinal RulesWorking safely, and promoting the safety of coworkers.
  • Constantly looking for ways to improve and maintain a safe working environment by completing FLRA’s, Near Miss Cards, and Safety Observations.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively with the customer and meet billable hours targets.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex drawings, specifications, charts, tables, and handbook formulas.
  • Application of advanced trades mathematics.
  • Competent with welding/cutting.
  • Flexible work schedule.
  • Proficient use of precision measuring instruments: mag particle tester, micrometer, laser aligner, caliper, and bore gauges with no supervision.
