Job Profile

The company is searching for a Mechanic who will perform as follows-

  • Ability to lay and plan only the most basic machining operations from prints, sketches or verbal instructions with supervision.
  • Ability to perform most simple/basic setups and machine a variety of components on a variety of machine tools.
  • Able to disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble all types of industrial equipment, including but not limited to compressors, turbines, PAPs, and others. Recommends repairs. Requires limited supervision.
  • Able to perform work in a safe and timely manner to meet customer needs. Ability to work extremely close tolerances.

Education Level

  • High School Diploma or Equivalency

Work Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience with rotating turbomachinery

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Ability to read and comprehend drawings, sketches, job scopes, and verbal instructions.
  • Able to accurately measure and record all dimensional inspections as needed and pass annual dimensional inspection test.
  • Accepts ownership over work performance and stays abreast of job knowledge and new skill developments.
  • Knowledge and accuracy in using various measuring devices: micrometers, indicators, calipers, gages, and other required tools necessary to perform the job.
  • Basic knowledge of machine equipment and machining operations of various machines: horizontal and vertical lathes, layout machines, vertical boring mills, horizontal mills, grinders, deburring tools, fixtures, radial and angular drill press, forklifts, cranes and various forms of rigging, jib hoists, personal computers, and other required tools necessary to perform the job.
  • Professionally conducts themselves at all times when working with internal and external customers.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
  • Full understanding of use for tooling, drawings, work scopes, procedures, specifications and documentation to perform the primary function of the job.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Maintains equipment by completing basic preventive maintenance requirements and notifying the appropriate representative for troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Promotes safety and quality at all times.

  • Adequate rigging capabilities
  • Experiences with turbines, compressors, or other rotating equipment
