Job Profile

The company is looking for a Mechanic/Heavy Duty Technician who will be skilled at diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and other powertrain components, air brakes, steering and suspension systems, electrical systems, and diesel emission systems.

Educational Qualification

• Applicants require a High School Diploma or Equivalent

Work Experience

• Possess 2 years of technical instruction in diesel or auto mechanics (preferred)

Duties/Responsibilities

• Ability to use a scan tool and laptop technology
• Follow reasonable instructions from the shift leader
• Help maintain an effective and clean work environment
• Must have own tools or ability to obtain own tools to complete all job functions
• Perform routine truck inspections and maintenance of fleet equipment
• Welding and torch experience is a plus but not required
• Other duties as assigned

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Ability to work independently or with a team
• Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle or be willing to learn

Work Environment

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and 100 pounds occasionally
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical
• Must be able to spend a minimum of eight hours on feet
• Work environment involves the ability to bend, kneel, crouch, walk, and drive
• May involve hazards such as diesel exhaust, brake dust, grease, antifreeze, and other elements associated with vehicle repair
