Job Profile

The company is looking for a Mechanic/Vehicle Technician who will be able to diagnose and repair gasoline engines and other powertrain components, hydraulic brakes, steering and suspension systems, electrical systems, and diesel emission systems.

Educational Qualification

• Applicants require a High School Diploma

Work Experience

• Possess 2 years of technical instruction in diesel or auto mechanics (preferred)

Duties/Responsibilities

• Ability to use a scan tool and laptop technology
• Follow reasonable instructions from the shift leader
• Help maintain an effective and clean work environment
• Must have own tools or ability to obtain own tools to complete all job functions
• Perform routine truck inspections and maintenance of fleet equipment
• Welding and torch experience is a plus but not required
• Other duties as assigned

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Ability to work independently or with a team
• Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle or be willing to learn

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and 100 pounds occasionally
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical
• Must be able to spend a minimum of eight hours on feet
• Work environment involves the ability to bend, kneel, crouch, walk, and drive
• The work environment may involve hazards such as diesel exhaust, brake dust, grease, antifreeze, and other elements associated with vehicle repair
