Job Profile

The company is looking for a Mechanic/Welder who will be well-qualified in the field of the heavy steel plate and weld repairs.

The position will work individually under the direction of a Maintenance supervisor.

Educational Qualification

  • No education level is mentioned, yet a High School Diploma will be a plus

Work Experience

  • Possess work-related experience (a plus)

Duties/Responsibilities

Welding-

  • Ability to measure and mark material for fabrication projects
  • Maintain stock of supplies required for the performance of these duties
  • Perform minor weld repairs on the processing plant and mobile plant equipment
  • Perform weld repair under the direction of heavy steel
  • Perform weld repairs under the direction of heavy fabricated steel boxes
  • Small fabrication projects following blueprints

Maintenance-

  • Additional Information
  • Assists in training co-workers as needed.
  • Assists with general clean-up of the work area
  • Follows all safety rules and policies, immediately reports any accident/incident, and assists in generating solutions to resolve issues.
  • Initiates purchase orders for parts.
  • Lubricates and cleans parts.
  • Performs accurate and timely data entry on all services performed.
  • Performs welding repairs as needed using arc, wire, tig, and gas welds.
  • Repairs/replaces and fabricates parts for worn items as required.
  • Safely uses hand tools, power tools, calibration, and measuring tools to complete job tasks.
  • Uses cutting torches to cut and lay out basic designs.
  • Uses an overhead crane and lifting apparatus.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to follow diagrams and weld symbols, measure, mark out, gas cut, and tack weld projects
  • Have strong organizational skills
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area
  • Must be able to communicate clearly
  • Perform basic weld repairs on heavy plate
  • Possess the basic hand tools for the job
