Job Profile

The company is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer who will improve processes and coach employees.

Educational Qualification

• Applicants should have a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from a college/university
• MS Degree (a plus)

Work Experience

• Possess a minimum 3 years of relevant engineering experience
• Previous experience in cryogenics (a plus), as is experienced in small to mid-sized product-based companies.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Collaborate with key manufacturing, quality, and supply chain contacts regarding new and existing designs to ensure production readiness and successful product launch of new or revised products
• Consult with other Engineers, Product Managers, and Project Managers to create and revise designs, ensuring the best engineering design practices are utilized
• Create and maintain CAD models and detailed component and assembly drawings
• Create and maintain complex Bills of Materials (BOMs)
• Evaluate and improve engineering processes
• Lead meetings that focus on design reviews, design improvements, process improvements, and cost-out initiatives
• Lead preparation of documentation as required per project plans, including engineering drawings, engineering change orders, temporary design deviations, and other supporting engineering documents

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Must be a self-starter and possesses excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Must be knowledgeable in the following areas CAD (SolidWorks or Inventor), engineering and manufacturing processes and systems (ECR/ECO, PDM, ERP, etc.), and ISO procedures.

Preferred Skills/Experience

• Minimum 3 years of CAD experience in an industrial environment
• Demonstrated ability to plan and manage multiple tasks
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Experience with ERP systems (Oracle, JD Edwards, SAP, or similar)
• Experience with PDM software
• Highly motivated self-starter
• Knowledge and experience in common manufacturing processes such as machining, metal stamping/spinning, welding, sheet metal fabrication, 3D printing, etc.
• MathCAD or MATLAB skills (preferred)
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office: esp. Excel, but also Word and PowerPoint
• Understanding cryogenic liquids, compressed gases, and their properties (a plus)
