Job Profile
The company is looking for a Mechanical Designer who will help it to take FRC to the next level.
Educational Qualification
- Applicants may be required a High School Diploma
- Journeyman designation in a mechanical field (an asset)
Work Experience
- Experience designing machines for the manufacture
- Experience in sheet metal design
- Experience using Autodesk Revit for draft and pre-construction drawings would be an asset
- Experience with SolidWorks or a related software package, and knowledge of modeling and related tools
- Experience with welding, or the ability to learn
Duties/Responsibilities
- Consulting with engineers and production staff during the manufacturing stage
- Creating high-resolution 3D renderings for sales purposes
- Preparing and interpreting engineering designs, drawings, and specifications for machines and components using SolidWorks as well as AutoCAD
- Preparing design concepts, sketches, or models for approval
- Preparing manufacturing drawings, specifications, and guidelines for production and constructing prototype designs
- Other duties and special projects as assigned
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Familiarity with data management and revision control
- Knowledge of waste management or water treatment equipment/industry would be an asset
- Proficiency in MS Office (formulas, formatting, Outlook)
- Willingness to take occasional criminal record/drug tests for US clients
Other Requirements
- Valid Canadian passport and ability to travel to the US
