Job Profile

The company is looking for a Mechanical Designer who will help it to take FRC to the next level.

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants may be required a High School Diploma
  • Journeyman designation in a mechanical field (an asset)

Work Experience

  • Experience designing machines for the manufacture
  • Experience in sheet metal design
  • Experience using Autodesk Revit for draft and pre-construction drawings would be an asset
  • Experience with SolidWorks or a related software package, and knowledge of modeling and related tools
  • Experience with welding, or the ability to learn

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Consulting with engineers and production staff during the manufacturing stage
  • Creating high-resolution 3D renderings for sales purposes
  • Preparing and interpreting engineering designs, drawings, and specifications for machines and components using SolidWorks as well as AutoCAD
  • Preparing design concepts, sketches, or models for approval
  • Preparing manufacturing drawings, specifications, and guidelines for production and constructing prototype designs
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Familiarity with data management and revision control
  • Knowledge of waste management or water treatment equipment/industry would be an asset
  • Proficiency in MS Office (formulas, formatting, Outlook)
  • Willingness to take occasional criminal record/drug tests for US clients

Other Requirements

  • Valid Canadian passport and ability to travel to the US
