Job Profile
The company is hiring a Mechanical Drafter who will create detailed technical drawings, BOMs, quality documentation, and schematics for turnkey-engineered pump packages using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
Collaborate with engineers, shop personnel, customers, and suppliers to ensure accuracy and compliance with both internal processes and industry standards.
Education Level
- Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Drafting, Engineering, or a related field.
Work Experience
- Experience in rotating equipment design or piping layout (preferred)
- Experience with FEA analysis (preferred)
Certifications
- Certification in drafting or CAD software (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Assist in estimating material costs and project timelines when necessary.
- Collaborate with engineers, shop personnel, and project managers to meet customer design requirements.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure the accuracy and completeness of designs.
- Create internal fabrication drawings with proper instructions to build equipment packages.
- Develop original design, detailed technical drawings, and schematics based on customer P&ID and specifications.
- Interpret rough sketches, notes, and verbal instructions to produce precise technical drawings suitable for fabrication.
- Maintain documentation and version control for all drafted plans.
- Provide design support for shop personnel throughout the build process.
- Revise and update existing drawings to reflect design changes from customer submittal document comments or internal design reviews.
- Utilize Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD to create P&ID, 2D drawings, and 3D models.
- Work with the engineering team to prioritize project deadlines.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor preferred).
- Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
