Job Profile

The company is hiring a Mechanical Drafter who will create detailed technical drawings, BOMs, quality documentation, and schematics for turnkey-engineered pump packages using computer-aided design (CAD) software.

Collaborate with engineers, shop personnel, customers, and suppliers to ensure accuracy and compliance with both internal processes and industry standards.

Education Level

Work Experience

  • Experience in rotating equipment design or piping layout (preferred)
  • Experience with FEA analysis (preferred)

Certifications

  • Certification in drafting or CAD software (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assist in estimating material costs and project timelines when necessary.
  • Collaborate with engineers, shop personnel, and project managers to meet customer design requirements.
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure the accuracy and completeness of designs.
  • Create internal fabrication drawings with proper instructions to build equipment packages.
  • Develop original design, detailed technical drawings, and schematics based on customer P&ID and specifications.
  • Interpret rough sketches, notes, and verbal instructions to produce precise technical drawings suitable for fabrication.
  • Maintain documentation and version control for all drafted plans.
  • Provide design support for shop personnel throughout the build process.
  • Revise and update existing drawings to reflect design changes from customer submittal document comments or internal design reviews.
  • Utilize Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD to create P&ID, 2D drawings, and 3D models.
  • Work with the engineering team to prioritize project deadlines.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor preferred).
  • Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
