Job Profile

The company is seeking a Mechanical Engineer who will focus on designing and engineering mobile medical trailers. The role involves defining and maintaining design timelines and deliverables, producing drawings in AutoCAD, and coordinating design with other disciplines or external design groups.

Education Level

Work Experience

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience
  • AutoCAD experience (required)
  • Autodesk Inventor experience (preferred)
  • SOLIDWORKS experience (preferred)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Create detailed technical documentation, including engineering drawings, specifications, and test reports.
  • Develops and manages design deliverables and schedule, collaborates with and coordinates across various teams for project activities.
  • Lead the mechanical design and development of medical mobile trailers, considering structural integrity, HVAC systems, plumbing, and electrical requirements.
  • Maintains collaborative relationships with production for improving manufacturability, providing technical support, and quality conformance assistance.
  • Participates in the continuous improvement efforts to include implementation of the engineering change management process, standardization of project specifications and procurement processes, documentation of lessons learned, and rollout of engineering best practices.
  • Produce detailed construction documents for mobile labs as assigned.
  • Review and evaluate shop drawings and submittals to ensure project specifications and industry standards are met prior to releasing for construction.
  • Tracks and manages engineering documentation following company and client requirements. Ensures data integrity and documentation is accurate, timely, and coordinated.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Ability to read and interpret regulations, guidance documents, technical manuals, specifications, and drawings, and specifications.

  • Evening and weekend work may be required.
  • High energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities.
  • Highly communicative and able to manage multiple modes of communication.
  • Resourceful, well-organized, highly dependable, efficient, and adaptable.
  • Strong computer skills across the Microsoft suite are a necessity.

Work Environment

  • This role will be primarily office-based.
  • If the need arises to work remotely, including nights and weekends, employees are expected to work in a secure location to protect company data and have stable, high-speed internet.
