Job Profile
The company is hiring a Mechanical Inspector who will perform verification inspection of Eaton’s suppliers’ detailed components and verification inspection of Eaton’s product for compliance with customers’ requirements, while assisting customer source inspectors as required.
Education Level
- High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
Work Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in manufacturing or a military environment
- Minimum 2 years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints
Duties/Responsibilities
- Assist customer source inspectors as required
- Coordinate Measurement Machine use, programming ability (preferred, but not required)
- Perform verification inspection of Eaton’s supplier’s detailed components
- Performs verification inspection of Eaton’s product for compliance with the customer’s requirements
- Surface plate layout
Preferred Skills
- Ability to operate CMM
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Flexibility to work overtime when required•
- Inspection equipment programming experience
- Needs to work well under pressure
- Technical Degree
- Thorough knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to interact with co-workers and customer representatives
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and use precision measurement equipment
- Familiarity with the requirements of ISO9001 and AS9100
- Thorough knowledge of measurement systems, techniques, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to use precision measurement equipment such as micrometers, calipers, comparators, thread gauges, etc.
Work Environment
- Reside within 50 miles of the location (no relocation)
- US person within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a US person as a US Citizen, US Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee
