Job Profile

The company is looking for a Mechanical Maintainer to join its team that improves the efficiency and reliability of the machinery that keeps industry in motion.

Educational Qualification

  • The applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED (required) plus a 2-year technical degree; or accredited apprenticeship program or the equivalent in a technical field (preferred)

Work Experience

  • 3 to 5 years of work experience as maintenance in a manufacturing environment with proven work experience with inspection, repair, installation, and maintenance of all types of manufacturing equipment
  • 3 to 5 years of proven experience in the electrical/electronics, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic fields
  • Minimum 3 years of computer experience/operation including MS Office and PLC programming
  • Demonstrated work experience with mechanical repairs and adjustments to precision instruments and gauges

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Diagnoses mechanical and hydraulic breakdowns on a process or process support machines/equipment (turning, forming, CNC, grinding, heat treat, etc.), plant equipment (compressors, waste treatment, boilers, chillers, HVAC, etc.), and facilities.
  • Repairs may necessitate dismantling, replacing, testing, and operating mechanical and hydraulic systems or components. Repairs may involve ream, grind, lap, thread, scrape, file, hand fit, assemble, drill, tap, simple milling, brick, or seal. This may require setup and operation of associated tools and equipment such as drill press, simple lathe, saw, hydraulic press, brake, thread cutter, and others.
  • Checks dimensions with electrical/electronic or mechanical measuring devices that may include micrometers, calipers, rule, masters, tape measure, and dial indicators.
  • Fabricates equipment or components supporting process equipment or plant equipment, such as guards, drip pans, and steel tables. This may include carpentry forming, bending, rigging, and welding.
  • Follows prescribed procedures in making preventive maintenance to process equipment, process support equipment, plant equipment, or facilities as required in accordance with production schedules. This may include lubricating, oiling, filter replacement, and drive mechanism replacement.
  • Handles and moves material in and about process area and plant using floor-controlled pendant crane, hoist, hand truck, or by hand.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Basic electrical knowledge, ability, and willingness to work with electricians on electrical/electronic repair.
  • Performs related assignments such as logging jobs, maintenance reports, etc., and keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly.
  • Proven record of reliable attendance, strong work ethic, and team skills
