Job Profile

The company is searching for a Mechanical Repair Person who will inspect, erect, repair, replace, install, adjust, and maintain all mechanical equipment.

Fabricates, tanks, structural steel, etc.

To perform all kinds of welding, brazing, and cutting using gas and electric welding equipment.

Education Level

• Not mentioned, a High School Diploma will be a plus

Duties/Responsibilities

• Adjusts equipment for proper operation.
• Advises when shut down of equipment is necessary.
• Assembles and aligns gears, bearings, shafts, etc.
• Builds up worn or defective surfaces.
• Cleans and prepares surfaces to be welded.
• Cuts material to size by burning
• Dismantles, cleans, replaces, and repairs equipment and piping.
• Exercises all safety precautions.
• Handles rigging equipment and erects scaffolds.
• Inspects equipment for defects, misalignment, wear, etc.
• Installs bearings, pins, bushings, gears, parts, etc.
• Interprets drawings and sketches.
• Keeps working area clean.
• Lays out work, makes sketches, and determines stock sizes to be used.
• Lubricates equipment on installation and repair.
• Makes all types and sizes of welds such as V lap, butt, etc.
• Makes provisions for handling materials and equipment to and from the job site.
• Makes sketches for own use.
• Makes temporary and permanent repairs.
• Operates machine tools.
• Operates power tools and equipment.
• Performs brazing.
• Performs gas and electric welding in all positions.
• Receives instructions, prints, and job orders.
• Selects materials and equipment for the job.
• Uses burning equipment to dismantle equipment.
• Works in a shop or field.

Tools/Equipment

• Drill press, power saw, welding equipment, burning equipment, small hand tools, power tools, grinders, measuring devices, handles moving equipment, scaffolds, piping, etc. Gas and electric burning equipment, cleaning tools, shields, safety equipment, welding fixtures, etc.

Materials 

• Steel, bronze, aluminum, asbestos, wood, lubricants, cloths, hardware, packing, repair parts, ferrous and nonferrous materials, welding rod, flux, gas, miscellaneous materials, etc.
