Job Profile
The company is searching for a Mechanical Technician who will build and refurbish equipment.
Work with necessary support departments within the plant to bring equipment up to current machine standards for production.
Work with manufacturing engineering to build new machines to fulfill production demands.
Education Level
- High School Education with 2 or more years of manufacturing setup experience (required)
- Associate’s degree in Industrial Technology with emphasis in Mechatronics or Tool and Die plus 5 years of experience in an industrial setting
Work Experience
- Possess work-related experience (a plus)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Assists in the creation or updating of illustrated work instructions.
- Assists in the troubleshooting of rebuilt or newly built equipment
- Completes reports and is capable of marking prints for corrections and additions of critical dimensions for engineering updates.
- Follow safe and proper procedures, and with minimal supervision, is capable of performing the required building, rebuilding, and installation of equipment.
- Informs supervision of unsafe machine conditions. Works with engineering to improve machine safety to current EHS standards.
- Keeps work area clean, orderly, and free of obstruction.
- May assist in the design, development, and fabrication of machines and equipment.
- May assist manufacturing engineering in problem solving, involving material handling, method improvements, and machine and plant layouts.
- May be required to perform other duties within engineering. May be called upon to work unscheduled hours to perform necessary tasks.
- Operates welder, drill press, cutoff saw, band saw, and other maintenance machinery and tools.
- Receives instructions from supervision verbally, through blueprints, or via handwritten sketches.
- Recommends, designs, and facilitates improvement methods for machines and equipment.
- Responsible for the safety and quality of own work and compliance with all company procedures and policies
- Uses general office equipment, including a personal computer.
