Job Profile

The company is hiring a Mechanical Technician to join its production team for various needs.

The position will take direction from the Manufacturing Manager, Lead Machine Builder, and more senior Mechanical Technicians

Educational Qualification

  • The applicants may be required a High School Diploma or GED

Work Experience

  • The candidates may have previous work experience in the related field.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Begin to assemble manufactured and purchased components to meet the specifications as indicated by assembly drawings. Assemblies may include complex arrangements and may require fitting and adjustment to meet close tolerances.
  • Communicate and be a channel for any constructive or objective ideas that arise, helping to keep the manufacturing standards up-to-date and at the highest level. Use the team as a pool of technical knowledge, solving problems together efficiently
  • Correct handling of the materials used for the build
  • Ensure that all print updates are being completed and that rework is properly recorded.
  • Helps build electromechanical devices
  • Installation of custom assemblies on customer floor; may be required for scheduled or unscheduled onsite customer service on evenings or weekends
  • Participate in tear down and shipping of the equipment.
  • Report any issues regarding workmanship or design to the Manufacturing Manager
  • Using the design package and customer specifications for reference; helps assemble systems and sub-assemblies
  • Verify the components are correct in the build

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and machine tools (Knee Mill, Surface Grinder, Lathe)
  • High mechanical aptitude and be familiar with measurement tools
  • Must be capable of working in a team environment and be able to maintain a positive attitude and consistent contribution to the projects assigned.

Key Requirements

  • Ability to cross the international border (passport required)
  • Ability to travel internationally up to 10% of the time
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and multimeters
  • Must be capable of working in a team environment and be able to maintain a positive attitude and consistent contribution to the projects assigned
  • US Citizenship

Working Conditions

  • Manufacturing environment – it may be exposed to loud noises, changing temperatures, machinery with moving parts, and exotic materials.

Physical Requirements

  • Sitting, standing, kneeling, laying, stooping, crawling, reaching, pulling, lifting up to 50lbs regularly and 75lbs occasionally, typing, visual acuity, occasional travel (up to 25%) for extended periods including overnight and weekends.
  • This is a Safety Sensitive position where the employee holding this position has the responsibility for his/her own safety or other people’s safety. It would be particularly dangerous if such an employee is using drugs or alcohol while on the job.

Equipment/Machinery Used

  • Machining and fabrication equipment (Knee Mill, Surface Grinder, Lathe, Drill Press, Welder), hand tools, power tools, laser alignment tools, computer, calculator, measurement tools, multi-meter, crane, fork truck, pallet jack.
