Job Profile

The company is searching for an Equipment Electrical/Mechanical Technician who will be responsible for supporting any tooling designs, preventative maintenance, and repair activities associated with MCR Feeder and Fuel Channel Replacement.

The position will report to the Area Manager or Tooling Manager/Lead.

Educational Qualification

  • The applicants should be a Graduate of the Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical Program or equivalent or equivalent practical experience.

Work Experience

  • The candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of manufacturing/fabrication or related industry, knowledge.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Ability to interpret Aecon and customer drawings/schematics, codes, standards, and procedures and communicate findings with the applicable project personnel.
  • Develop tooling repair/maintenance procedures as applicable for each of the different project equipment sets, using knowledge of manufacturers’ specifications and design intent.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with respective tooling maintenance manuals and Aecon Red Book Safety requirements.
  • Ensure process control is maintained throughout critical tooling maintenance and operation.
  • Ensure that the project tooling and equipment are correctly configured for the respective operation.
  • Maintain a regular job-site presence to continuously monitor and provide support for all required tooling maintenance and repair activities.
  • Maintain and execute regular preventative maintenance on all program tooling to ensure optimal operation.
  • Manage and maintain comprehensive spare components and consumable inventory to ensure proper tooling operation.
  • Manage the procurement and storage of all required spare tooling, components, and consumables; ensuring that all components are available for optimal tooling performance.
  • Participate and/or Lead any tooling-related troubleshooting activities required during tooling development and/or operations at the site.
  • Perform and record all required preventative maintenance activities on the respective tooling.
  • Preparation of Aecon Technical Specifications and requisitions for all tooling spare components, and consumables, including special purchasing instructions based on the tooling design.
  • Prepare and coordinate all required activities to ensure that site conditions are suitable for the planned refurbishment activities, prior to mobilization to the site.
  • Provide expertise and work closely with supervisors, tooling engineers, welders, mechanics, and multiple trades, utilizing different tooling systems designs.
  • Provide OPEX on tooling design changes that would optimize tooling maintenance and performance operation.
  • Report all tooling issues and Human Performance issues, to Supervision.
  • Responsible for all electrical and mechanical maintenance on the MCR project tooling.
  • Support emergent tooling development activities.
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Manager.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Knowledge of Liburdi welding systems and equipment is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Wachs SDB and EB2 Milling equipment is an asset.
  • Manual disassembly/assembly of equipment, electrical/electronic components and umbilical assemblies are essential.
  • Strong working knowledge and interpretation of mechanical drawings are essential.
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical/electronic schematics and the use of proper diagnostic equipment is essential.
  • Strong written, verbal communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Work well in a Team Environment.
  • Working knowledge of Solid works or CATIA is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of MS-based computer applications.
