Job Profile

The company is hiring a Metal Finisher who will part range in size from small hand-held to large weldments.

Help remove cut parts from the laser-cut sheets.

Use tools such as a hand grinder, hand file, bead blaster, vibratory machine, and a conveyor parts cleaning system.

Education Level

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred)

Work Experience

  • Possess work-related experience (a plus)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Attach identifying tags or labels to materials, and mark information on boxes, pallets, or other containers.
  • Cleans and organizes work area.
  • Count, weigh, and record the number of parts processed.
  • Examines product for defects.
  • Inspect work for conformity to specifications.
  • Load/unload material onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand, fork truck, or hoist.
  • Operate a sit-down fork truck
  • Position parts according to the knowledge of the unit being assembled or following prints.
  • Read work orders, follow verbal instructions, and check print specifications to perform the necessary process on parts.
  • Remove burrs from parts as required using various deburring tools.
  • Stacks or assembles products into bundles and bands together.
  • Support the safety and quality programs by following all accompanying rules and established processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to operate a forklift.
  • Ability to read and interpret simple blueprints.
  • Ability to use a variety of hand tools such as hammers, pliers, screwdrivers, wrenches, drills, grinders, and bander.
  • Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measure, box caliper, slide dial caliper, and micrometer.
  • Capable of setting up and operating one or more processing machines.
  • Provide high-quality work to all internal and external customers as related to the output of their position.
  • Speak, write, and comprehend conversational English.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to bend, sit, stand, twist, and stoop for long periods.
  • Ability to lift 20-5- lbs. repetitively throughout a shift.
  • Ability to maintain coordination of hand and finger movements to grasp and manipulate objects with precision.
  • Ability to walk 2-5 miles throughout a shift.
  • Have a good vision of 20/30 with corrective lenses.

Environmental Conditions

  • Atmospheric conditions are one or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin, fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
  • Hazards: a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, exposure to high heat, or exposure to chemicals
  • Oils: there is air or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids.
