Job Profile

The company is seeking a Metallurgical Engineer (Thermal Spray) who will bring new and improved products to market.

Evaluate returned products and research and development samples.

Work with other departments as well as with outside vendors and customers.

Education Level

• BSc Degree in Metallurgy, Material Science, or other relevant science-related field

Work Experience

• 3-10 years of relevant experience
• Working knowledge of applicable industry standards such as API, ASTM, NACE, and ISO specifications

Duties/Responsibilities

• Assist design engineers with the selection of materials/coatings for performance in various drilling environments
• Audit and evaluate third-party suppliers that offer raw materials and thermal spray/plating services
• Develop and improve thermal spray coatings on tools used in various applications
• Disposition material on non-conformance issues.
• Perform analysis on returned products on time, documenting analysis work, and preparing technical reports
• Perform lab testing and design qualification test programs/documentation of new materials and processes
• Prepare and maintain global raw material and special process specifications
• Provide technical support to a broad range of people, including internal engineering, manufacturing, and field operations, as well as customers and suppliers.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Ability to effectively communicate technical information both verbally and in writing.
• Good communication skills
• Working knowledge of metallurgical testing equipment used for destructive testing and material evaluation
