Job Profile
The company is recruiting a Metrology Inspector who will be responsible for ensuring that hardware meets all requirements as outlined in design documentation, standards, and specifications such as J-STD-001, IPC-620, military specifications, and the like.
Education Level
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- An Equivalent Combination of Education and Experience
Work Experience
- 10+ years of related inspection experience
- Experience using calipers, scales, micrometers, and height gages
- Experience with hardware acceptance
Duties/Responsibilities
- Utilize metrology tools and techniques to ensure components meet all approved requirements outlined in design documentation, standards, and specifications. (50%)
- Review of documentation and objective evidence to ensure compliance with requirements. (25%)
- Communicating and collaborating with the team. Identifying problems, solutions, and areas for improvement. (15%)
- Cross-training with team members to increase knowledge base. (10%)
- Other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
- AWS Welding Certification
- Experience using FARO arm, CMM, or similar equipment
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, with technical and non-technical professionals at all levels
- Certifications or Training (such as ASQ, IPC, J-STD)
- Experience with software such as TipQA, CostPoint, PDM+
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time
- Ability and willingness to work weekends or overtime if necessary
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings, product specifications, test procedures, MIL standards, and requirements
- Knowledge of Industry standards and Quality specifications
- Moderate computer skills
