Job Profile

The company is hiring a MIG Welder who will be responsible for assembling products using hand-held welding and flame-cutting equipment to join metal components following assembly instructions and procedures.

Educational Qualification

  • The applicants should have a High School Diploma or Equivalent

Work Experience

  • The candidates should have 1 year of welding experience

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies with hand-held welding equipment.
  • Corrects welds by chipping or grinding off excess weld, slag or splatter using hand scrapers, portable grinders, or arc-cutting equipment.
  • Document actions by completing production, quality, and time forms.
  • Identifies and anticipates safety and health concerns and hazards by surveying environmental, operational, and occupational conditions.
  • Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following operating procedures.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Wear proper personal protective equipment.
  • Move components by operating an overhead crane, using safe work habits.
  • Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
  • Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprints specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
  • Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.
  • Verifies specifications by measuring completed components; conducting a self-inspection.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and specifications.
  • Ability to work overtime as required including Saturdays.
  • Basic understanding of Shop Math
  • Proven ability to weld using MIG hand-held welder
