Job Profile

The company is looking for a MIG Welder who will be responsible for preparing metal for weld operations per customer specifications, drawings, and instructions from engineering.

Primary duty is performing welding operations on various customer products using manual and/or robotic welding equipment.

Educational Qualification

  • The prospective applicants may be required a High School Diploma

Work Experience

  • The candidates should have a minimum of 1 year of related experience.
  • Experience as a welder and running a robotic welder.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Adjusts weld gas flow per given WPS instructions.
  • Loads and locates parts into tooling per print and work instructions.
  • Maintains welding equipment and sees that work area is orderly and clean.
  • May be required to remove material by grinding (metal finishing) using power tools and manually to meet customer specifications.
  • Performs quality checks per set up sheet.
  • Removes weld spatter and scale from finished parts.
  • Required to rework parts up to customer specifications.
  • Reviews weld requirements from weld prints (size, spacing, location, ECT).
  • Sets up manual weld machine or downloads program per set up sheet instructions.
  • Setup and operate robotic weld cells.
  • Using provided setup sheet operators verify correct filler metal is installed, changes filler as needed.
  • Verifies proper tooling is installed in the robot or staged in a manual area.
  • Welds part per customer-provided prints.
  • All other duties assigned

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time. This position involves a lot of bending, twisting, and lifting.
  • Ability to pass a hands-on and written test.
  • Ability to understand and follow MEC safety policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to read blueprints, work orders, and follow instructions.

  • Frequently required to use hands to handle or feel
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms
  • Regularly required to sit and talk or hear
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
