The company is looking for a Millwright Mechanic to join its team.

Educational Qualification

  • The applicants should have a High School Diploma or Equivalent

Work Experience

  • The candidates should have 3 years of proven experience or comparable field preferably within the Industrial Maintenance industry

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Align machines and equipment, using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, levels, lasers, and plumb bobs
  • Align, level, and anchor machinery
  • Attach loads to rigging to provide support or prepare them for moving, using hand and power tools
  • Attach pulleys and blocks to fixed overhead structures such as beams, ceilings, and gin pole booms, using bolts and clamps
  • Complete assigned work within a given timeframe and according to specifications
  • Complete housekeeping duties in assigned area or project area daily and/or when required
  • Complete required paperwork
  • Comply with standards and procedures of Metro Group INC’s Health and Safety program, including job safety analyses, Risk assessments, etc. Assure compliance of team members
  • Construct and/or repair machine foundations using hand tools and building materials such as wood, cement, grout, and steel
  • Control movement of heavy equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces, using chain falls, overhead frames, and other equipment
  • Controlling Machines and Processes ‘ using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes (including computers or vehicles)
  • Dismantle and store rigging equipment after use
  • Dismantle machinery and equipment for shipment to the installation site, usually performing installation and maintenance work as part of a team
  • Ensure assigned work is understood prior to commencing
  • Experience with conveyors and conveyance systems. Ability to track belts and troubleshoot issues
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
  • Insert shims, adjust the tension on nuts and bolts, or position parts, using hand tools and measuring instruments, to set specified clearances between moving and stationary parts
  • Inspect rigging to ensure safety and reliability
  • Install and maintain machinery and equipment using hoists, lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools
  • Level/ establish centerline, using straightedge, levels, and transit
  • Operating Vehicles, Mechanized Devices, or Equipment ‘ running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, passenger vehicles
  • Perform other job responsibilities as assigned
  • Replace defective parts of a machine or adjust clearances and alignment of moving parts, adjust equipment to ensure optimal performance, and replace worn, damaged, or defective mechanical parts
  • Select gear such as cables, pulleys, and winches, according to load weights and sizes, facilities, and certified load ratings
  • Shrink-fit bushings, sleeves, rings, liners, gears, and wheels to specified items, using portable gas heating equipment
  • Signal or verbally direct workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads, in order to ensure the safety of workers and materials
  • Tilt, dip, and turn suspended loads to maneuver over, under, and/or around obstacles, using multi-point suspension techniques

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required
  • Basic electrical and controls knowledge is a plus
  • Must be mechanically proficient
  • Proficient in stick and wire feed welding processes
  • Working knowledge of Hydraulic systems and ability to troubleshoot
