Job Profile

The company is seeking a Welder who will be responsible for supporting the Mine Maintenance department by safely maintaining the mobile fleet to ensure optimum reliability and availability of the assets.

The individual will utilize strong industrial welding experience to focus on the fabrication and repair of designated heavy equipment including (but not limited to) shovels.

Educational Qualification

• The applicants should have a Welder Journeyperson Certificate in Alberta or an Interprovincial Red Seal Certificate

Work Experience

• Possess 5+ years of working on mining equipment; specifically supporting off-road heavy equipment and shovels

Duties/Responsibilities

• Actively participate in continuous improvement and safety management system
• Deliver safe, efficient, and quality workmanship on the repair of shovels
• Ensure that preventative maintenance guidelines are adhered to and maintain complete and accurate records
• Execute all planned maintenance inspections and repairs, as well as run maintenance repairs on the shovel fleet
• Identify and acquire the necessary resources to complete tasks
• Provide technical assistance and expertise to various welding jobs
• Support other trades in the removal and replacement of major components (engines, transmissions, undercarriage, etc.)

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Basic understanding of computer-based mine maintenance planning programs and Microsoft Office Suite
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license
