The company is searching for a Mobile Equipment Diagnostic Mechanic to join its team.

Education Level

Work Experience

  • 2 years of experience in mechanical/maintenance crafts (including welder, boilermaker, machinist, or facility maintenance/construction) or a combination of education and experience in industrial mechanical repair and maintenance.
  • NCCCO Certified mobile crane operator
  • Overhead crane repair certification
  • Hydraulics and transmissions
  • Simple gear diagnosis diagram reading experience
  • Basic electrical diagrams reading experience
  • Boom truck experience

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Operate mobile equipment such as Overhead cranes, forklifts, and boom trucks.
  • Perform as a Fill-in Supervisor as required.
  • Perform diagnostic, maintenance, and repair of heavy equipment such as, but not limited to: Haul Trucks, Water Trucks, Rubber Tire and Track Dozers, Front-end Loaders, and Motor Graders.
  • Perform mechanical and lubrication preventative maintenance on machine systems such as hydraulic, power trains, and engines.
  • Perform the removal, repair, and installation of transmissions, engines, breaks, differentials, pumps, motors, torque converters, final drives, and other heavy equipment systems or components.
  • Perform welding such as Carbon arc, Plasma, Mig, Tig, and Stick.
  • Prioritize and make decisions regarding equipment repair as needed.
  • Responsible for maintaining work orders and performing work area inspections.
  • Train and mentor other employees.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to communicate in English concerning job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
  • Ability to prioritize repairs and possess excellent decision-making skills
  • Ability to read and use blueprints
  • Ability to troubleshoot machine systems
  • Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures in English
  • Ability to work and effectively communicate with others
  • HEM Diagnostic Mechanic I: Practical Skills Assessments defined in LOP.
  • Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required mechanical aptitude.
