Job Profile
The company is searching for a Multi Skilled Technician who will be responsible for maintaining the company’s facilities and equipment in an operating and functional condition.
The duties may include any of the following electrical repairs or installations, CNC repairs, mechanical repairs, plumbing, welding, machine servicing, and general mechanical maintenance (e.g. Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning, or HVAC).
Education Level
- High School Diploma or demonstrated equivalent
Work Experience
- 3 years of maintenance experience in one of the following trades or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience: Paint line maintenance and repair, Industrial Mechanical Machine Repair, or Automotive Repair.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Analyzes equipment failures, inspects, replaces, alters, and maintains in good repair all building and production services and related equipment.
- Assists in installing, inspecting new equipment, and servicing installations.
- Assists in the movement of furniture, materials, and equipment as required.
- Assures code and building standards are met.
- Complies with all governmental, company, and industrial regulations, codes, and standards, health safety practices, and permit systems.
- Coordinates the day-to-day operations of a group of employees.
- Coordinates work with outside contractors.
- Develops and implements planned maintenance procedures, performs job estimates, and maintains spare parts inventory. Keeps stock persons informed as to parts consumed from inventory.
- General Maintenance of equipment will also be required.
- Leads and directs by assigning, monitoring, and reviewing progress and accuracy of work.
- Maintains a strict schedule to be successful in the assignment yet demonstrates flexibility in the day-to-day activities and scheduling for the benefit of the customer.
- Must have the ability to identify and correct any safety-related issues and perform independent equipment evaluations to identify potential equipment failures.
- Operates a variety of equipment such as hand tools, laptop computers, and diagnostic hardware to perform work.
- Operates various measuring, diagnostic, and testing instruments to help provide energy efficiency solutions.
- Operate, maintain, and repair all facility and production-associated equipment in compliance with all company regulations and standards.
- Other duties as assigned by the Manager or Supervisor.
- Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Performs planned maintenance on all building equipment and related services for specific areas while being sensitive and responsive to customer needs.
- Performs preventative maintenance inspections, sump clean out, lubrication, adjustments, and alignments.
- Performs preventive maintenance as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Performs repairs, modifications, and preventative maintenance on buildings and facilities, equipment, fixtures, and systems.
- Performs troubleshooting techniques on mechanical equipment such as CNC machine tools, pumps, agitators, hydraulic systems, compressed air, and other gas equipment and distribution systems to determine problems and effect repairs as promptly and efficiently as possible to minimize downtime.
- Performs work based on dispatched service or daily/weekly work schedules.
- Provides support to co-workers, contractors, vendors, project managers, building managers, and engineers as necessary to support project and renovation work.
- Recommends measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Respond and provide service/feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance with codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Review service requests for repairs and maintenance, determine the nature of the problem, and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Reviews work as required to document specific needs (materials, supplies, instructions, etc.).
- Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures and wearing PPE as required.
- Serves as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues.
- Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains facility systems.
- Under general supervision, performs tasks that reflect substantial variety and complexity.
- Work schedules can change based on critical business needs.
- Works with or oversees subcontractor activities as directed by supervisor or work schedule.
- Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.
- This position may require a valid Driver’s License.
- This position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.
- This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.
Work Environment
- Ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher.
- Requires the ability to differentiate colors about wire color-coding.
- Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.
- Requires the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.
- Requires the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladders, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during a shift.
- Requires the ability to regularly kneel repetitively for the shift.
- Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
- Requires the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.
- Requires the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.
- Requires the flexibility to bend, stoop, and squat repetitively during shifts.
- Requires the use of a Company/Client-approved utility knife.
- Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.
- Wear steel-toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
- Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.
