Job Profile

The company is recruiting a National Accounts Manager who will be responsible for the growth, management, and development of key national account customers within the specialty and industrial contractor market space.

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of sales experience on a large scale in either an industrial equipment rental or a welding equipment sales or rental environment.
  • Experience in developing and managing national-level or strategic accounts.
  • Sales experience in either an industrial equipment rental or a welding equipment sales or rental environment (ideally construction, fabrication, or manufacturing sectors) is an asset.


  • Target and develop senior-level relationships with some of the larger contracting firms in the U.S., with the objective of selling and delivering the value of Airgas.
  • Sign national agreements with existing customers and new prospects.
  • Develop a comprehensive sales plan to increase sales account penetration.
  • Implement national agreements through collaboration with Red-D-Arc district managers and sales reps.
  • Develop market segment growth plans with Airgas Marketing VPs in Metal Fabrication, Energy, CPI, Technology, Transportation, and Construction.
  • Manage sales budget and profitability of the national account portfolio.
  • Maintain accurate customer records, pricing, and other pertinent flow-down information.
  • Responsible for monitoring and reporting high-level account activity as necessary to mitigate administrative and inefficiency issues such as credits, collections, and customer service performance.

  • Ability to effectively build relationships with customers and co-workers.
  • Ability to identify opportunities and deploy resources in the form of specialists, applications, or SA personnel to maximize the sales potential.
  • Ability to make critical decisions while following company procedures.
  • Ability to manage by influence and build strong high-level relationships
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently with little supervision.
  • Ability to set goals and motivate self and others to achieve annual sales objectives
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Adaptable to set and prioritize work with varying exceptions.
  • Knowledge of sales contracts with the ability to negotiate terms and conditions with C-level executives, CEOs, company owners, or large-scale construction companies.
  • Skills and Abilities Attention to detail and solid organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of positioning equipment, welding applications, and equipment is strongly desired.
