Job Profile

The company is recruiting an NDT Inspector who will oversee the quality and safety of all welding activities on site.

Responsible for ensuring all inspections are completed before, during, and after any welding operations to the highest standards along with conducting any NDT inspection when applicable.

Pose high accuracy in all reporting and ensure the team is meeting client specifications and deadlines.

Education Level

  • Not mentioned, yet a High School Diploma will be a plus

Work Experience

  • A recognizable Non-Destructive Testing Qualification following BS EN ISO9712 to include Penetrant Testing or Visual testing PCN level 2
  • A recognizable welding certification – CSWIP, AWS, HNC, HND, or NVQ certification

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assisting Quality/Inspection Engineer in investigations
  • Assuring the acceptable levels of materials have been received, issue reports of material receiving (e.g., checking against 3.1 Certification)
  • Assuring work performed is as per drawings/specifications/contract
  • Conducting NDT inspection when applicable
  • Conducting visual inspection including dimensional aspects
  • Customer-focused inspection and final sign-off for outgoing products
  • Documentation of inspection results by completing reports, including ‘First Offs’ and recording of data
  • Ensuring all safety regulations are being adhered to
  • Ensuring a safe working environment by following standards and procedures; and complying with legal regulations
  • Ensuring the correct equipment is being used, checking correct weld specifications, weld maps and drawings are being adhered to
  • Identifying Quality problems and supporting continuous improvement, offering suggestions where appropriate
  • Identifying repairs from an assessment of visual or NDT reports
  • Inspection of manual/machine-produced welds, including making recommendations for accepting or rejecting work
  • Observing all relevant actions related to weld quality throughout the production
  • Recording or logging of production inspection points relevant to weld quality, including when appropriate a final map and report sheet showing all identified welding imperfections
  • Supporting Quality Engineers to resolve Production and Supplier related Quality issues

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • A clear understanding of Weld Maps and drawings and drawing interpretation
  • Able to work under limited supervision, be proactive and capable of managing your time effectively
  • Proven ability to communicate decisions and problems
  • Strong attention to detail
