Job Profile

The company is hiring an NDT Inspector (Pipe Mill) who will be responsible for providing assistance to the Client in the overall monitoring, surveillance, or supervision of the facility’s pipe activities and the procedures necessary in achieving the desired level of quality as it pertains to the project.

Education Level

• High School, GED, or higher education

Work Experience

• Prefer at least 8 years of experience with pipe and pipe-related quality assurance systems as related to non-destructive testing of line pipe
• Familiar with/able to interpret and understand a) national codes and standards and b) specifications, drawings, and data sheets as they are related to multi-disciplinary construction and pipe projects

Duties/Responsibilities

• Assess/Audit contractor, subcontractor, and vendor activities to ensure effective execution of the quality assurance programs and plan
• Compile information relating to contractor, subcontractor, or vendor quality, which can be used to support changes in their quality assurance programs, plans, and procedures
• Participate in project meetings as needed
• Prepare and issue an inspection report
• Provide coordination effort and assistance as requested by the Client and Lead Pipe Mill Inspector
• Report the status of the contractors, subcontractors, or vendors’ overall quality assurance program to the Client and its specific effectiveness on the project as it relates to non-destructive testing performed by the pipe manufacturer
• Supervise inspectors on a day-to-day basis to enforce effective utilization and timely verification of the project quality objectives as needed
• Witness testing, perform verifications, and monitor project activities

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Ability to work well with others, multi-task, and be oriented.
• Familiarity with email and internet communication systems.
• Fluent in English (i.e., reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
