Job Profile

The company is searching for an NDT X-Ray Technician II who will perform any NDT work within the focused factory, including Visual Inspection (VI), Radiographic Testing (RT), and Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI).

May perform inspection at any point in the focused factory. Inspection may be audit, sampling, or 100% based on factory team needs or customer requirements.

May refer to all appropriate paperwork as necessary to perform inspection, and record information per factory/customer needs.

Education Level

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent

Work Experience

  • ACES 7136, and fluorescent penetrant technician Level 2 (K21) and X-ray technician Level 2 IAW QAP18.0H8

License/Certification

  • Be certified as a visual inspector IAW

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Accurately complete inspection forms, logs, records, and check sheets in any format (i.e., from paper to computer) for the monitoring of the factory.
  • Active involvement in creating a safe workspace and following safety best practices.
  • Complete job performance measurements associated with productivity and quality.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform various preventative maintenance tasks and specified process control checks to maintain control of processes and equipment.
  • Facilities Maintenance: Perform defined 5S actions in and around NDT areas as assigned.
  • Follow procedures and perform operations associated with core duties.
  • Have the skills and knowledge to interpret codes, standards, and other contractual documents that control the NDT method(s) utilized (customer documents, industry standards, etc.)
  • Perform all RT and PT Level 1 and 2 duties as defined by applicable standards NAS410 and Eaton Quality Assurance Procedure QAP18.0H8.
  • Perform visual inspection as defined by Eaton Engineering Standards.
  • Training: May be assigned to the training of other employees.
  • Work on cross-functional Lean/Continuous Improvement Teams to improve manufacturing process efficiency and customer quality, and delivery performance

  • Defect recognition and reporting
  • Equipment setup and operation
  • Image interpretation and analysis
  • Radiation safety compliance
  • Radiographic testing (RT) proficiency

Work Environment

  • Must be willing and capable of working on your feet for long periods and be able to lift at least 25 pounds.
  • Must be capable of meeting the visual acuity requirements of NAS410 and ACES7136 (color and near vision)
