The company is hiring an NMO Technician IV (CNC Machinist) to join its team.

Education Level

  • Bachelor of Science degree or technical certification from an ABET-accredited program or 2 additional years of experience
  • 5+ years of experience in a related technical role with formal training or practical experience equivalent to technical knowledge obtained in military training courses or through a 2-year technical degree.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Applies advanced development, evaluation, and quality control techniques to complex technical projects.
  • Creates, modifies, or trains others on work procedures.
  • Demonstrates ability to consistently be self-directed while understanding the priorities of the business to consistently make decisions in their day-to-day activities.
  • Demonstrates ability to effectively engage with FM&T customers and represent the company in a positive light.
  • Demonstrates ability to provide informal leadership for groups of 5-7 technicians, leading them to accomplish work results tied to business objectives or work tasks within their area.
  • Learned from project leads/subject matter experts while demonstrating technical aptitude.
  • Possess the ability to efficiently navigate the FM&T portal or other shared resources and locate key applications or documentation when required.
  • Reads, understands, and follows work procedures to accurately record results.
  • Understands, actively utilizes, and leads others to utilize all elements of Honeywell Operating Systems (HOS) and Management Operating Systems (MOS)
  • Uses equipment, techniques, and tools necessary to complete tasks.
  • Works under minimal supervision, with latitude for independent action and decision-making.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to obtain and maintain, if required for the position, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations).
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Ability to work remotely, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business.

  • Boring/counterboring, countersinking, drilling, pocketing, profiling, reaming, tapping, thread milling, knurling
  • CNC machinists, operators, and skilled workers with many years of experience, including reverse engineering and design verification skills, and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) expertise.
  • Custom machining for prototype and production utilizing CNC; includes 3-, 4-, 5-, 7-axis CNC milling, engine lathes, 2-, 3-, 4-axis turning center, 7-axis dual-spindle mill-turning center, multi-axis EDM wire
  • External/internal threading, parting/cutting, facing; and contour, form, taper, and straight turning
  • Fixturing: three- and four-jaw chucks, 5th-axis work-holding system, tooling, vacuum fixturing for milling, and turning
  • Formal training or practical experience equivalent to technical knowledge obtained in military training courses or through a 2 or 4-year technical degree.
  • Materials: alloy/stainless steel, aluminum, brass/bronze alloys, carbon steel, iron, Inconel, titanium, copper, basic/engineered plastics
  • Programming or expertise with Software/file formats: CAD, CAM, MasterCam 2019–2023, AutoCAD, Inventor, Pro-E, SolidWorks; and IGES, STEP, DXF, DSI, PDES, PDF file formats
  • Some positions within this classification may require unique expertise.
  • Tolerances: shear cutting ±0.015″, milling/turning ±0.0005″, wire EDM ±0.0002″, welding ±0.015″ (17.1 specification certified)
