Job Profile
The company is recruiting a Pads Transformer Assembler who will be responsible to perform the final assembly operations of the electricity transformers according to prescribed standard methods and procedures.
Educational Qualification
- No education is required but one must be able to read and comprehend written materials associated with the job and perform basic math functions.
Work Experience
- Manufacturing and assembly experience (preferred)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Attach/install component parts and sub-assemblies to transformer tanks (e.g. leads, bushings, brackets, fuses, switches, nameplates, arrestors, labels, stencils, bands, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with safety and housekeeping practices, company policies, and procedures.
- Load, operate, and unload the vacuum system.
- Perform various hand assembly, fitting, and adjusting operations of a repetitive nature.
- Perform work in some or all of the following work centers: Tank-up, casing, small parts, vacuum chamber, cover welding, painting, palletizing, final assembly, and testing.
- Place and anchor core/coil assemblies into tanks.
- Retrieve and weld covers.
- Rework nonconforming parts and products.
- Touch-up paint on tanks when needed.
- Use punch press and small power hand tools as required.
- Perform other operations as directed.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Be physically able to perform the essential functions of the job, have good visual acuity, and wear the required PPE.
- May require the operation of an industrial lift truck.
- Operate a hoist.
- Perform work requiring a strength rating of medium.
- Use manual and powered hand tools.
- Work from written communications including operating instructions (NFOI), PIC lists, production schedules, JSA, etc.
- Work in awkward positions including prolonged bending, stooping, reaching, and stepping from one level to another intermittently throughout the work day.
