Job Profile
The company is seeking a Patternmaker who will be responsible for building and maintaining foundry patterns and related tooling at the facility.
Education Level
- High School Diploma or GED
Work Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a toolroom environment
Duties/Responsibilities
- Construct, calibrate, or set gauges and precision measuring instruments
- Fabricate, assemble, construct, and repair metal, plastic, and wood parts, tools, jigs, fixtures, master patterns, core boxes, and dies from prints, sketches, or templates
- Maintain equipment and working area in a clean and orderly condition
- Perform other job-related duties as directed by the supervisor or group leader
- Requires a minimum of instruction and supervision
- Set up and operate efficiently all machines and equipment in the Tool Room such as grinders, lathes, milling machines, drill presses, saws, planers, sanders, mig, tig, arc, and acetylene welding
- Sharpen all tools and work to a minimum tolerance of .001
- Use all machinists and patternmaker hand tools and precision measuring instruments skillfully
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to adhere to company rules and guidelines, including daily attendance
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and design models
- Ability to work to a deadline
- Detail-oriented
- Excellent fine motor skills
- Have previously completed a Patternmaker apprenticeship program
- Physically fit and able to stand for long periods
- Willingness to work overtime as needed
- Work in a union shop
