The company is seeking a Pipe Welder to join its team.
Education Level
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Work Experience
- At least 2 years of related experience
- Pipe welding certification
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and design sketches
Duties/Responsibilities
- Adjust valves, gauges, and flames as needed and safely handle compressed gas and oxygen cylinders.
- Checks that items produced pass the quality control test
- Lay out, position, fit, and weld various piping and structural components, including pipes, flanges, fittings, valves, piping supports, structural plates, beams, etc., under the supplied piping/structural fabrication drawings.
- Measuring, cutting, and welding different types of pipes together to create piping systems
- Operate air arc, gouger, grinder, and other industry machines, tools, and equipment.
- Participate in JSAs and all other Safety, Health, and Environmental Processes and complete appropriate documentation.
- Performs work associated with the installation, calibration, and operation of different kinds of production machines, depending on company specialization or materials used
- Reads and interprets blueprints, engineering specifications, and shop orders to determine machine setup, production methods, and sequence of operation
- Tests and inspects machines to determine safe and efficient operation, performs routine maintenance and fixes standard malfunctions
- Welding on various materials at required positions using different welding processes, including, but not limited to, GTAW, SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, and SAW.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to work on various materials at required positions using different welding processes, including, but not limited to, GTAW, SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, and SAW.
- Attention to detail is essential
- Basic math skills
- Proven ability to identify and solve basic to moderate-level problems
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with ISO procedures
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
- Occasionally required to climb or balance.
- Must be able to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this role include close vision.
Work Environment
- Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to the risk of electrical shock.
- Occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration.
